Nursing Home Here I Come! - from April 2, 2007

Yes, I know this is the same picture as the last post, but Mommy hasn’t given any new ones to Daddy...and Daddy just really likes this picture.

Tomorrow night we go into the nursing home. While this is a little scary for us, it is good because it means that my services through MDCP start on Wednesday. Thankfully we found a wonderful nurse who is committed to help us. Mommy had called so many people trying to find a nurse, but had not really heard from many. We interviewed a few of them, none of which blew my diaper off, and were starting to become a little worried about finding one. Mommy had talked with a lady she felt a great connection with the first day she called people, but this nurse already had a full-time job and another child she took care of. In other words, she had no time for us, but Mommy couldn’t stop thinking that she was the one. Turns out she couldn’t get us off of her mind either.
Last week Fernando, from the MDCP, called to tell us that we were going to the home this week, but we needed to have a nurse committed before things could get going. When Daddy was hanging up the phone with the MDCP Mommy was answering the door and letting in Dee. As I said earlier Dee had been thinking about us when Mommy called to see if her schedule had changed. After talking they agreed to meet to discuss the situation. Dee felt led to help us, even a little, until we could get a nurse with more hours. Both Mommy and Daddy just loved Dee. She is a strong Christian woman with a kind heart and tons of nursing experience. Plus she oooed and awwed over me, but duh, who wouldn’t?
So, she has agreed to help us three hours a week. This will get us started and into the system until Kristin gets approves by the State and starts nursing for us. By then we are hoping that Dee will have more free hours so that we can split the nursing time between the two.
That is a lot of convoluted information, which really just means that God reached down and blessed us with a great nurse at the very moment we needed one. I don’t know why we were so worried about finding the right nurse when we knew that God would provide. Thanks for all of you who were supporting us with your prayers during this time.

Speaking of prayer...a special request from Mommy and Daddy. For some reason I have decided to fuss and I just can’t stop. Mommy gets real tired of me being in a constant state of fuss, but I just can’t help it. Please pray that my joy would come back and that whatever it is that is causing me to fuss would be taken care of.
